Dear Key Biscayne resident,

The Key Biscayne High School Initiative will be participating at the Green Expo this coming Friday, February 29, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM at the Village Green.

The “Walk and Bike Safely to School” program, from the Safe Routes To School organization, will be introduced with the assistance of a representative from the Florida Department of Transportation. For further information, please visit http://www.saferoutesinfo.org/.

By avoiding the typical commute to take a child to a school out of the Village, a family can save each year:

This is just one more reason to have a high school within Key Biscayne.

Please join us at the Village Green to learn about the Walk and Bike Safely to School Program and about our Key Biscayne High School Initiative.

Thank you,

Johnny Rodgers Band @ 7:15 pm

JUST NAMED WINNER IN BILLBOARD MAGAZINE WORLD SONGWRITING COMPETITION

Johnny Rodgers Band is excellent and I would not know where to start. …a composer and spectacular pianist, the singer is a true dynamo on stage, who jumps from one style to another with the ease of an expert trapezist:  jazz, pop, rock”  His versatility is uncommon and very authentic. - Daniel Fernandez, El Nuevo Herald, Miami

Recently, the Johnny Rodgers Band played to a sold out audience for Festival Miami at the University of Miami and performed for Billy Joel at the Lincoln Center for the ASCAP Founders Awards.  The music of the Johnny Rodgers Band comes alive with Brian Glassman on bass, Joe Ravo on guitar, Danny Mallon on percussion and Johnny Rodgers with vocals at the piano.  Johnny has also shared the stage with Sir Paul McCartney, Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, Dave Koz, Michael Feinstein and Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award-winning songwriter Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Disney’s Pocahontas).

In between gigs and writing sessions with the Band, Johnny Rodgers is also currently touring the world with the legendary Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award winning superstar Liza Minnelli, which comes to Hard Rock Live in Hollywood FL March 14 as well as other Florida cities.

This will be like “coming home week” for Rodgers who grew up in the Miami area. Johnny honed his musical skills when he attended Miami-Dade’s New World School of the Arts and the University of Miami, before heading off to the bright lights of New York City. Johnny took the Big Apple by storm playing at some of the city’s most prestigious clubs and winning numerous awards including BackStage Magazine’s Bistro Award, Best One Man Show by Show Business Weekly and the MAC Award for Best Male New York Debut.   Visit  www.johnnyrodgers.com    www.myspace.com/johnnyrodgersband
