"There are so many kids using our Village parks and athletic programs that we have agreed to work hand-in-hand with our dedicated Key Biscayne Athletic Club to help manage all athletic programs on the island.

Now that we’re getting our kids in shape – we are working toward getting that long promised high school. A Virginia Key high school has been a dream for a long, long time.

For too many years, parents have been concerned – rightfully so -- that our children must travel 11 miles through congested and choking traffic to get to Coral Gables High.

Our work continues with the Miami-Dade Public Schools – as well as with officials of the City of Miami, the County, and the State -- to build a regional high school as part of the Virginia Key Master Plan."
