Initial draft includes projects valued at $69,825,975.  Proposed High School & Lifelong Learning Center was not included in this draft plan. Perhaps an oversight?

Council discussed and approved: 1) Conducting workshops in October, November 2008 and January 2009 (See timeline and description); 2) Establishing a High School Advisory Board; 3) Deferring (withdrawing) the Charter School Application filed with M-DCPS and FDOE on August 1, 2008.  See consultants recommendation, See Village Manager's recommendation.

Council A) backed away from community workshops timeline approved at their July 22 meeting, which included informational workshops in October and November 2008, with budget governance and facilities workshop in January 2009; B) Discussed all workshops to start in January 2009 - technically dropping application approval process; C) Agreed to discuss a new schedule at their September 9 Council meeting.
Council also approved minutes of the July 22 meeting, which inaccurately record January 2009 as the agreed dates for informational workshops vs. October, November 2008 and January 2009 as agreed at the July 22 meeting as reflected in transcript of video of that meeting (see below) For additional insight, read Islander News article: Council resistant to early Charter School workshops.
