Learn about best practices in today's education and how our school can be planned to become one of the best in the country, and a facility that fosters community, encourages inquiry and is grounded in a commitment to excellence and lifelong learning. 

We now have a unique opportunity to plan our innovative, forward-looking Shared Community learning Center, serving our entire community, as limited only by the collective imagination of our community and inspired by recognized world-class consultants.

Schedule

Island Room. 2nd Floor - Community Center.
Workshops will repeat and alternate mornings and evenings on the 29 and 30 of October to facilitate participation of as many community members as possible.

Workshop 1 - Visioning

Wednesday October 29, 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Repeats on Thursday October 30, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

This workshop is designed to introduce and obtain community's feedback regarding the applicability of national and international educational best practice to Key Biscayne.

Workshop 2 - Educational Models Workshop

Wednesday October 29, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM. Repeats on Thursday October 30, 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM

This workshop features descriptions of 6 - 7 major high school programmatic models from around the U.S. with highlights of best practices and results common to each. Activities will focus on helping participants understand how these models would or could fit with the Key Biscayne community and their desire for a successful high school. The workshop will culminate with participants selecting preference features.

Toddler care and children activities will be available to take care of our kids while we can attend the workshops. Please plan on arriving 30 minutes earlier if bringing your kids.

Refreshments and a light snack will be served.
