School Facilities

Fielding Nair International, (FNI) a world-class planner and design firm of innovative education facilities, was contracted in early 2008 by our Village to assist us in visualizing, planning and providing us with an understanding of the kind of facility we would need for the estimated 400 children school.

An analysis of over 25 potential sites was conducted by FNI in June 2008.  The underutilized Village Hall and 530 Crandon Blvd. (empty lot between SunTrust Bank and our Fire Rescue department) were identified as viable options to host the school. See Key Biscayne Sites Analysis report here.

Community workshops were conducted in October and November, 2008.

Report with findings and recommendations was delivered to the Village on January 13, 2008.  See report, or summary of facilities.

Further analysis determined the 25,000 sq. ft. facility could also be located at the parking lot of the Village Hall.

Please visit the Q&A section of this web site for updated information on facilities.
